Common questions from Mountbatten residents. Can't find what you're looking for? Email care@mountbatten.sg.

How do I contact my MP, Ms. Gho Sze Kee?
You can reach Ms. Gho's office by email at ghoszekee@mountbatten.sg. The easiest way to raise a concern directly is to attend a Meet-the-People Session (MPS) every Tuesday evening from 8pm at Blk 92 Jalan Satu, #01-11. No appointment is needed — just walk in with your NRIC and relevant documents.
What is the Meet-the-People Session (MPS) and who can attend?
The MPS is a weekly session where any Mountbatten resident can meet the MP or her representatives to raise personal, housing, financial, medical, or family concerns. It is held every Tuesday from 8pm onwards at the PAP Mountbatten Branch (Blk 92 Jalan Satu, #01-11). There is no appointment needed, and all information shared is kept strictly confidential.
What kind of issues can I bring to the MPS?
Residents commonly raise matters such as: HDB flat issues and maintenance concerns, financial hardship and assistance scheme eligibility, healthcare needs and referrals, employment difficulties, neighbour disputes, family support needs, and any matter requiring referral to a government agency. The MP's team will assist in connecting you to the right agency or service.
How do I find out what government support schemes I qualify for?
The quickest way is to use the SupportGoWhere portal at supportgowhere.life.gov.sg, which lists schemes across housing, healthcare, employment, and family. You can also approach any Social Service Office (SSO) in person, or come to the MPS for a guided referral.
I'm facing financial difficulties. What immediate help is available?
ComCare short-to-medium term assistance is available at Social Service Offices for low-income individuals and families. You can also approach the MP's office at the MPS. For immediate food or basic needs, community organisations like Tung Ling Community Services (📞 6282 8545) and St Hilda's Community Services (📞 6345 0054) operate in Mountbatten and can provide urgent support or referrals.
Who do I call for urgent estate or maintenance issues (e.g., burst pipe, lift breakdown)?
For urgent estate maintenance outside office hours, contact the Emergency Maintenance Service Unit (EMSU) at 1800-325-8888, which is available 24/7. For general estate matters, contact the Marine Parade–Braddell Heights Town Council at 6282 0551 (Mountbatten branch) or use the OneService app.
Are there free or subsidised activities for seniors in Mountbatten?
Yes — Mountbatten has a strong network of free activities for seniors. These include Chair Yoga, Zumba Gold, Taiji, Qi Gong, Meridian Flapping, Resistance Bands exercises, and social activities like Bingo and Rummy-O, run through the four Resident Networks and Active Ageing Centres. Visit the Physical Activities and Community pages for full schedules and contact numbers.
How do I get mental health support if I or a family member is in crisis?
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 (Police) or 995 (Ambulance). For mental health crisis support: Samaritans of Singapore (24/7): 1767; National Mindline (24/7): 1771. For ongoing community mental health support, the CREST team (1800 650 6060) offers in-person counselling and referrals. Visit our Counselling page for the full list of resources.

🤝 Wondering exactly what her team can help with?

From free legal advice to job referrals and neighbour mediation — see Ways Your MP Helps You for a full breakdown.

Ways Your MP Helps You?

Beyond the Meet-the-People Session itself, Ms. Gho Sze Kee's office connects residents to specific, practical support. Here's what her team can help with, and how to access it.

Most of what's below is arranged through the Meet-the-People Session (MPS) — every Tuesday, 8pm onwards, at Blk 92 Jalan Satu, #01-11. No appointment needed; just walk in with your NRIC. See Meet Your MP for full details.
MPS Legal Clinics Free legal advice alongside your Meet-the-People Session

⚖️ Community Legal Clinic (CLC)

Once a month, in conjunction with the MPS, a Pro Bono SG volunteer lawyer holds free 20-minute consultations for residents with personal legal matters (business and commercial matters are not covered). Ask Ms. Gho's team at the MPS for the next available date, or register in advance with Pro Bono SG directly.

Bring: your NRIC and any documents related to your matter (letters, agreements, notices).
Note: Sessions are strictly confidential and open only to residents who have not already engaged a lawyer for the same matter.

📞 Pro Bono SG: 6536 0650

Need legal help outside the MPS schedule? See the full list of pro bono legal clinics — including Wisma Geylang Serai and Joo Chiat CC — on the Legal Support page.

Job Mobility Support through redundancy, career change or upskilling
If you're between jobs, facing retrenchment, or considering a career switch, raise it at the MPS. Ms. Gho's team can help you understand what you may be eligible for and refer you to the right agency for one-on-one career coaching.

Full listings, including senior employment and business support, are on the Jobs Assistance page.

Neighbourhood Disputes & Mediation Resolving friction between neighbours, amicably
For minor disagreements — noise, corridor clutter, shared space use — grassroots leaders at the MPS can often help facilitate an informal conversation between neighbours first. For disputes that need a more structured process, Ms. Gho's office can refer you to the Community Mediation Centre (CMC), a free, voluntary mediation service under the Ministry of Law that resolves the large majority of the disputes it mediates.
Community Fridge Sharing surplus food within Mountbatten
Community fridges let neighbours share surplus, still-good food on a "take what you need, give what you can" basis. One recent example is the FoodShare Community Fridge @ Block 88A, Dakota One (Jalan Satu) launched by the PAP Mountbatten team.
Child Library & Reading Corners Bringing books closer to young readers
Marine Parade Public Library — the National Library Board branch serving Mountbatten, Katong, Joo Chiat and Siglap — is reopening within the new Marine Parade Community Building. In the interim, NLB has previously donated pre-loved books to set up children's reading corners at Residents' Committees, such as the one at Marine Terrace Walk. If your Resident Network would like to explore a similar reading corner, or wants help accessing the 24-hour Book Dispenser and Libby e-book app in the meantime, Ms. Gho's office can help make the connection — raise it at the MPS.
